Tucson, Arizona—Marcus J. Johnson, age 27, died when the car he was driving became airborne and struck a house early Sunday morning.  Tucson Police Department accident investigators were called to the scene at 21st Street and Camino Seco.

Mr. Johnson was driving his Ford Mustang above the speed limit westbound on 21st Street when he failed to negotiate the turn at Camino Seco.  The car struck a median, became airborne and crashed into a condominium.  Mr. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.  His passenger was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The residents of the home awoke to a strong smell of gasoline in their home and the sight of shattered glass everywhere.

We extend our sympathies to Mr. Johnson’s family and friends over this tragic loss and we wish his passenger a swift and full recovery.
