Tucson, Arizona—Paul Costello, age 27, was killed when the vehicle in which he was a passenger left the roadway and crashed into a tree just prior to midnight on Saturday night.

Tucson Police Department accident investigators determined that the 1993 Honda Accord was southbound on River Road near Samantha Grove Drive when it left the roadway and struck a tree on the right side of the road.  Mr. Costello was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The unconscious, as-yet unidentified driver was transported to Banner University Medical Center where he remains in serious condition.  Police believe that driver impairment may be a factor contributing to the accident.  The accident investigation is ongoing.

Our sympathies are with Mr. Costello’s family and friends at this time of great loss for them.
