A wrong-way accident on Interstate 8 left one person dead and another with serious injuries on Sunday morning. According to DPS, Arturo Canales was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-8 at milepost 58 when the collision occurred.

Alyssa Cusimano and Phillip Shelton were killed Saturday morning when the car driven by Mr. Shelton left the roadway on Interstate 8 and crashed into a tree. Ms. Cusimano was a passenger in the car. When the car struck the tree, it caught fire. Tragically both Ms. Cusimano and Mr. Shelton died in the burning car.
An employee of the City of Yuma Utilities Department was seriously injured in a strange accident on Tuesday while repairing a water leak. William Mason is hospitalized in intensive care with a broken back, broken leg and injured arm after a 16 foot tall saguaro cactus fell on him. In addition to these injuries, well more than one hundred cactus needles have been removed from Mr. Mason’s body.
