
Maria Lopez Killed in Head-on Accident in Somerton

Somerton, Arizona—Maria Fernandez Lopez, age 19, was killed on Wednesday in a head-on collision in Somerton.
According to accident investigators, Ms. Lopez was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with a Jeep Cherokee at Avenue G and County 13th Street. Ms. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupants of the sedan, as well as the driver of the Jeep Cherokee, sustained injuries in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation but police do not believe that alcohol was a factor.
