Two Phoenix Police Officers Injured in DUI Crash

Phoenix, Arizona—Two officers with the Phoenix Police Department were injured early Sunday morning in a crash caused by a driver suspected of DUI.

According to investigators, the officers were investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian near 75th Avenue and Indian School. The officers were seated in their cruiser when a driver went through barricades and crashed into the vehicle, which had its emergency lights activated.

The injuries were serious enough to require transport to a local hospital for evaluation, but are not life-threatening. The DUI driver was extricated from his vehicle and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
