Tucson, Arizona—Barbara Angiolini, age 54, was killed when an out-of-control SUV jumped the curb of the sidewalk where she was standing outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Saturday morning.
Tucson Police Department accident investigators report that the SUV struck Ms. Angiolini, crashed through a fence, then rear-ended a vehicle that was in the drive-thru lane before coming to rest against the building.
The SUV driver and passenger were transported to a hospital in serious condition. Three customers inside the restaurant were treated for minor injuries.
Tucson Police believe speed may be a factor contributing to the accident, though no citations as yet have been issued.
We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Angiolini over this tragic loss and we wish rapid and full recoveries for the injured.
