Flagstaff, Arizona—Two people were seriously injured in a car accident on Highway 89 that was apparently caused by an impaired driver. The crash occurred on Wednesday just after noon a few miles south of Gray Mountain.
A northbound Dodge Journey driven by 25-year-old Joshua James Burbank of Chinle, Arizona crossed the center line. The resulting collision with a southbound Penske moving truck and a pickup truck sent two people to Flagstaff Medical Center with very serious injuries.
Mr. Burbank was booked into Coconino County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and driving under the influence. The investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety is ongoing.
Our best wishes are with the injured victims for a swift and full recovery.
