Prescott, Arizona—A school bus slid off the road into a power pole yesterday morning at about 8:00 a.m., injuring the driver and two students from the Prescott Unified School District.  Two adults and seven children occupied the bus at the time of the accident.

The Prescott Police Department and Prescott Fire Department were called to the scene at the intersection of Iron Springs Road and Meadowridge Road.  The 71-year-old male bus driver was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center West in Prescott.  A 7-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East in Prescott Valley.  None of the reported injuries were life-threatening.

School officials reported to the scene and assisted in locating and reuniting all seven students with their parents.  The uninjured students were transported by another bus to a parking lot.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation as neither speed nor impairment are considered factors.

We wish full and rapid recoveries for those who were injured.
